WE'VE GOT TO GET TO THE SEA

Now who doesn't think of Jack Johnson when going to a costal place? Yeah? Well today was spent in Monterey Bay and coasting along the beautiful highway 1. There is no place I personally love more than the sea cliffs of California--Monterey, Capitola, Pescedero and Half Moon Bay--I can take it in for hours on end. Yes, it's the middle of January, and it's freeezing cold, but I find that bundling up and getting cozy to watch the waves is the way to do it.

January means it's my little brothers' birthday and now this punk is fifteen. Crazy. It also means that we are celebrating it with something that involves science, and this year, it's the Monterey Bay Aquarium (again). But I'm cool with that, I like the sea. It's like Finding Nemo and whatever.

My personal favorites are the Jellies, for they shall be my squishies. And the sea turtles, looking for the Australian western current in a big glass tank. Duuude.

The Jellyfish exhibit was actually pretty cool, with a 70's theme throughout it all. Glow in the dark Jimi Hendrix quotes, and my father dancing in front of the screen projectors. Yesss. Fish are friends, not food. So eat squid.

Now what I loved most about this trip, was the drive back along highway 1. The beautiful Pacific during the golden hour. This is Pigeon Point lighthouse a bit off of Pescadero. How can you not love this place?

I caught my parents from a distance having a moment, so cute. Haha. But they're just like a teenage high-school couple, gotta get that photo for instagram. #didnteventagme

This is where my heart is.

The lesson here: No coast like the California coast.
